My last 2 weeks at Farleigh for the Year

I had a good week at Farleigh this week but last week I wasn't feeling well. I had a nasty cold. I went in fine Monday morning, managed to do some shopping but didn't feel like staying at Four Winds on the evening. Alley phoned up mum and asked her to come and get me. After tea, we went back home and I had a nice week at home. I was round Nanny and Pop's house alot as Mum had to go to work.

This week, everything was nice and smooth except from Monday morning when I didn't feel like going back. On Tuesday, I had Christmas dinner with all the other students. I didn't like the turkey as it was a bit thick but it was nice and tasty. On Wednesday, I won at bowling! I managed to beat Angela and I scored 95.

There are lots of nice things to look forward to next year. One of them is Windows 8! In Feburary, Microsoft will be releasing a pre-release feature complete build of Windows 8 known as the Windows 8 Beta. It will be released to the public which means that everyone is welcome to try it out on any PC that meets the minium system requirements.

After passing the Beta milestone, Microsft will release a newer build known as the Release Candidate which means that everything you will see in this build will appear in the final version but there still may be some software bugs that the Windows team haven't fixed yet. After that, Windows 8 will be released to manufacturing and the final build will be released to the genereal public.

There will also be a new Bop It game which will be revealed at the Toy Fair next year!

I wishh everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Ho Ho Ho!

Another week at Farleigh

On Monday, I went to college OK. After college, I went back to four winds, had a snack and went shopping with Petra as four winds was low on staff so Angela couldn't go shopping with me. Whilst I was shopping Angela made my tea and after tea we went upstairs and later on that evening we watched I'm a Celeb. There was a new cutscene which was a scorpion! When Angela saw it, it scared her! It was also that time again when Torx decides to start changing his pitch. We all knew that Torx was giving us an early warning that the batteries are running out.

Tuesday was even better! Angela was meant to be going out for a meal at Babberland but she had to stay at four winds because again, there were short on staff. I was very happy as she spent the evening we me and Torx managed to survive another evening. I also went to the learning centre and I did my literacy and numeracy sessions there.

On Wednesday afternoon, Torx ran out completely. He went extremely slow and Jacque and I couldn't play it in slow motion. Therefore, me and Angela changed the batteries and whilst I was eating my tea, Emma came back with my new Torx for home! I also went bowling. On the first game Angela scored 117 and on the second game she was called 'Babber' on the scoreboard and she didn't win. I did well. I had some spares.

I was looking forward to Thursday morning as it was time for me to come home again. Now I only got 2 weeks left at Farleigh and next Thursday it's gonna be my last train journey for the term.

Another week at Farleigh!

On Monday morning, I had a nice breakfast and went in the car and played my games on our way to college. When I got to college and I saw Ben, I felt really angry as I knew I wasn't gonna get away from him every day. Later on in the day I felt better and I had a great evening with Angela.

On Tuesday evening it wasn't that great. Roz didn't do my tea great and it didn't fell the same without Angela being there but I saw Angela all day as she was supporting Ben at college.

On Wednesday I ended up staying at home because it was Ben's Birthday party and he could choose where to go bowling. He chose Bristol, and I didn't want to go all the way to Bristol because I knew that I would want to go home and I don't like Ben. I also managed to make my bed quicker than I used to as I been having OT every week and Emma the OT therapist teaches me on how to do things.  On Wednesday evening, Emma set of the fire alarm. It wasn't a drill, it was just to make sure that Emma knows how to set the fire alarm off via the control panel and so that I know what it sounds like. It sounded exactly the same as the college alarm.

On Thursday I was a lot happier as I knew I was going back home. I'm looking forward to the Christmas Holidays as I will be home for 2 weeks!

Saturday 19 November 2011

My first 3 weeks at Fareligh in a new term!

My first week was great. I went shopping on Monday, I had a guitar lesson with Andy on a Tuesday and I went bowling on Wednesday and I went home normal time.

On the second week I felt a bit sad on the Monday but it turned out to be great because Ben went home ill on Monday evening and we had a nice quiet week without him. I also won bowling!

This week, Ben was back and on Tuesdays I won't be having Angela because she goes to a different house, but I will be having Angela on Mondays and Wednesdays like normal. When I went bowling, Angela beat me! On Thursday afternoon I went to the Learning Centre and I had a numeracy lesson there. I was taught on how to measure the area and the perimeter of rectangles.

I'm so glad that I'm a Celebrity is on again as there will be something to look forward to on the evening. Hopefully the Spider's Web will come on every night.

My last week before half term

It was last week at Farleigh before half term. On Monday I had a nice breakfast at home. I had sausages and spaghetti. I went in the car and played on my games, and then I went to college. I felt good at College but when I went back to Farleigh I felt really upset and didn't feel like going swimming. Instead, I went shopping and bought all my food for the week. On the evening I had fish cakes, mash and peas which most of it went down the hatch. I also had a battemberg. I had a calmer evening when I was playing games with Angela.

On Tuesday I got up and I struggled to eat my breakfast because the toast wasn't that great and I had to eat with Ben and I don't like Ben that much. I tried to eat my toast in the kitchen away form Ben but it wasn't nice, so I had some grapes. However, I had a better lunch and a nice tea when I got back from guitar lesson.

On Wednesday, I had a better day. I had my toast in the morning, went to college in the silver Dudey and had some lunch when I got back to the house. My roll wasn't that great, but I ate my crisps and cake. I had a nice early tea and I had fish fingers, croquettes and peas. I went bowling and I scored 74. We just had 1 game as there was 8 people playing including staff.

Today, I didn't have a good breakfast again because the toast wasn't that great, but I had some grapes. Mum picked me up after lessons, gathered my stuff up and went home.

Saturday 15 October 2011

Quite an upsetting week

On Monday, Mum took me to Trowbridge. When I saw Ben I was very upset but I went to lessons OK. My Functional Skills Maths lesson was changed from 1:00 to 1:15 and it's still an hour lesson. I went back to Farleigh and did my shopping and I made my tea. It was a nice tea and I ate it all down the hatch. On the evening I played Crash Bandicoot with Angela and later on we played on Bop It Extreme.

On Tuesday my roll that me and Angela made wasn't that great because there was too much derelea in the  roll. Tea wasn't that great either because the sausages were overcooked and it made me feel homesick before guitar lesson. At guitar lesson I learnt a new chord which was E minor add 9. It's add 'add 9' because it uses the ninth note in the scale. When I went back, I made my lunchbox and then we played on Crash Bandicoot Warped!

On Wednesday, it was my last day of the week. I had my breakfast, caught the bus to college, went to college and went back home in mum's car and I had a nice roast tea at Nan's house!

Next week will be the last week before half term and I hope I'll have a good week.

Sunday 9 October 2011

A really good week at Farleigh!

I had a really good week at Farleigh. On Monday Dad took me to Terrific Trowbridge where Jacqui would look after me for the day. After College I went back to Four Winds and I went swimming in Warminster. The leisure centre was nice and they had a nice pool but it was cold because it was a hot day. I didn't like the cold water and it made me feel upset, but then I went back to Four Winds and had a nice shower and a nice fish cakes & mash for tea. On the evening, I played Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped whilst Angela watched me.

On Tuesday I had a nice 2 pieces of toast and I went to college. Near the end of the day Ben was starting to get a bit crazy for me and I had to put up with him talking all the way home. I was glad to go for my guitar lesson. On the way we saw a nice red VW camper van, surfs up dude! When I went back, I had the best sausages & mash I ever had and we played Crash again but near the end of the evening, Nathan and James came up and had a go.

On Wednesday I woke up, had a shower and had breakfast and I went into College a bit later and I took the buss to Trowbridge. I also had a tutorial at College and everything is OK. During lunchtime I ordered 2 Bop It games from eBay: the Original Bop It and a Bop It Extreme! I had OT and Emma (an OT therapist) showed me how do laces on a lace board, changing my bed, doing buttons and making up a squash. Angela and I had plenty of time to play some more Crash and I had a nice usual for tea which went down the hatch. I'm on fire!!!! Later on in the evening, I went bowling and we had 2 lanes and we had 2 games.

On Thursday, it was a nice easy day, but my 11:44 train got cancelled so I had to get on the 12:57 train. We were going to catch the 12:16 train but we had to get off and get on a London train but Sharon said that the 12:57 is an easier train to catch.

I'm such a lucky dude as I got a even shorter week next week and I'm coming home on Wednesday! and I'm starting to feel more settled and chilled at Farleigh.

Saturday 1 October 2011

Another week at Farleigh

On Monday Morning I had my breakfast at home and I really didn't want to go back to Farleigh, but I got in the car and went to college. I was a bit stroppy and I felt really upset when I saw that Mum had gone. It took me time to get to lessons but after a while I felt alright. After college I went home and I did my shopping for the week. After shopping I came back, I had my tea, made my sandwiches for the next day, and Angela and I played on Torx and Abe's Exoddus.  I also did my laundry too.

On Tuesday I got up, had a shower, have breakfast and went college like normal. When I got back I played on Torx with Louise and Angela. Louise won! I had my early tea and then I went to my guitar lesson in Bath with my favourite guitar teacher, Andy Cook. When we got back, we made our sandwiches and then we played on Abe.

On Wednesday I didn't have college until 10am. Jacque and Sue came up to my house and we took the buss to college. The driver started to move whilst I was sitting down and I had a bit of a wobble. I had lunch at college and then I went back to my house in the plain dudey. I went outside with Jacqui and we played Torx. When I went back inside to pick another game, I checked my phone and I had a text from Nanny at 14:30 and it said "Alright, OK, Old and grey!!!" Finally! Pop's Brain Shift arrived! I really wanted to see him playing it on Skype but I had OT. After OT, I saw him playing it on Skype and he got 9 straight away!

After that, Angela came and we went outside in the garden and we played Brain Shift. Later on, we made my tea and it went all down the hatch. In the evening we went bowling and I had 94. I also had 2 spears.

On Thursday, I had my breakfast, went to college and went home on the train with Jacque. I was really pleased to go home.

Wednesday 21 September 2011

My good week at Farleigh

On Monday, I went to Trowbridge and I was doing Level 2 IT. In the afternoon I was doing Functional Skills Maths and Hardware. In the hardware lesson I was looking into the history of the computer. After College I met Angela who was from Babber Land! Angela and I made my tea. I had fish cakes mash and peas. I've been playing games with Angela and then it was 9:30 and I went to bed. I was showing her one of my favourite playstation games, Abe's Oddysee. Here is a speed run video on which the guy completes the whole game in 1 hour and 9 minutes!

He also did a shorter speed run and completed it in 42 minutes.

I did show her some speed tricks in Abe's Oddysee and some glitches which I discovered from those videos.

On Tuesday I had breakfast and I went to College. I had a nice toast and some OJ and I didn't like my roll but I ate everything else in my packed lunch. I did functional skills English and I did a workshop and then I  looked at spreadsheets. In the evening I had my guitar lesson with Andy Cook and we picked 3 songs that we made in the past which were:
Fire Alarm Song
Mr Bird Song
Mac & Oddworld Song

We funked them up. I'll upload the recording when I get home tomorrow with my new BT broadband which is faster than AOL.

After guitar lesson, I went home, have tea, and I played some games with Angela.

Today, I had a shorter college morning and I didn't have to go until 10am. In the morning, I complete Abe's Oddysee and I had the good ending!

I had a lesson on ICT for Business and Web. Eventually I will be building my own Website which I did when I did my GCSE ICT.

This evening, I'll be going bowling.

Tomorrow morning, I'll be going to college until 11:00, then Jackie and I will be going on the train to babber land! Woo-hoo!

Friday 16 September 2011

My end of the week at Farleigh

Yesterday, I had a nice chill out day at my residence. I did a bit of laundry and I changed my bed. In the afternoon, I started to feel upset but I had a good tea. I then went bowling with some other students and Mark. I had a spear! After that, we went back home and I had a shower and I snuggled up in my feathers.

On Thursday morning, I felt really home sick. I couldn't eat all my toast. I really didn't feel like staying at Farleigh for much longer but Louise told me that I couldn't go home until Friday.

Whilst I was at College, I had a hardware lesson in the lab and we were having an introduction to hardware. After break,  I was doing some functional skills in English. After lunch, I was carrying on my web assignment and I had a 2 hour lesson on Web production.

During my time at college, Mum and Dad were at four winds having a meeting about a new routine for me.

When I went back, I had some surprising news that the dudey would be ready to pick me up 7pm that day! I felt really happy and Louise said that I've been doing so well that we went out to McDonalds and I had a nice fish finger happy meal!

Whilst we were at McDonalds, we were talking about our new week. Our new plan is that I go home Thursday evening every week for tea and Mum takes me to Trowbridge College on Monday mornings. I am also going to have extra support as well.

Luckily next week I don't have to go to college until lunchtime because I got a meeting with someone.

We also got some activities planned eery night.

On Mondays I might be going swimming
On Tuesdays I have a guitar lesson with Andy Cook!
On Wednesdays I'll be going bowling.

I like the sound of my new routine at Farleigh and it's going to be a lot better for me.

Monday 12 September 2011

My first day of new timetable at Terrific Trowbridge!

On Sunday evening it was time for me to go back to Farleigh. I felt a bit sad during the journey but I was fine later on Monday morning.

At Trowbridge today I had a longer morning rest because I didn't need to go to tutorial. At 10:00 it was time for lessons which were an hour long. We just had to do some assessments in the morning. After break,   it was my first introduction lesson on Info Systems. The teacher was explaining to us about what we would be doing in her lessons.

After lunch, I had my introduction lesson on animation and I was drawing a face on Paint and PowerPoint.

During breaks, I was playing on my Bop It XT. In the afternoon break, I started on the Pro level where you have to remember 3 commands at once. They can be voice, sounds and colours. The first pattern on solo is always "Bop It! Twist It! Pull It!" and then it randomises everything. You have to do 100 to win. When I got to the end he said to me, "Score 100, you're on fire!!!! You beat Bop It!" and it played a victory celebration.

Tomorrow is a bit exciting for me because Microsoft have got a BUILD conference in California and they'll be allowing attendees to try out Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 and they'll be streaming on their website at 9:00am PDT.

This week at Farleigh is a shorter week and Pops will have a better Brain Shift hopefully coming through the post this week.

Thursday 8 September 2011

My last day at Wilshire College and Farleigh College for the week

On Wednesday Morning I got up. had a shower and spoke to my Mum and Dad. Mum very kindly ordered Pops a Brain Shift game from eBay because he couldn't see the colours that well. She texted me "Alright!!!!!" For breakfast, I had another peice of toast and a glass of milk. Then I got into a plain dudey and I went to college. I had a different support worker. Her name was Ann. She was helping me that day. On the morning we were in the classroom first thing and then we had an indruction to the Libary. They showed us a video and then we went back into the classroom. I had an updated timetable because I had to do functional skills because I didn't get a C grade in my Maths or English.

After break, I had my first lesson in the IT lab. We had a health & safety introduction lesson and we had some time before lunch and the level 2 IT students were allowed to leave earlier. The new students had to set up a computer, turn it on and check what CPU and RAM it had. They were all using an AMD Seprom Processor:

and they had 512MB of RAM and the 10-year old Windows XP Professional!

After lunch, we had group challenge. Neil splited us in groups of 3 and we had to draw ourselves a paradise island and we had unlimited ammounts of money. We had to draw things on the Island. After that, each group had different people which we had to decide who to put on our island. I couldn't remember what else I did that afternoon but I went home a bit early and I had to speak to someone about functional skills.

Today was the most exciting day for me, but I got a bit stroppy because Dad suggest that I had bacon and beans for breakfast becasue they didn't had any white bread for my toast, but luckily Louise went out to get some white bread for me. I just spent the morning chilling and at 12:20 the dudey was here!

Mum and Dad had a chat to Louise and we had to take some things back to my house to sort things out. I will be going to Farleigh on Sunday after tea and I will be going food shopping on Monday.

Tuesday 6 September 2011

My First 2 Days at Terrific Trowbridge

It was Monday Morning. I woke up and I had a shower and I sprayed my Sure for Men Quantum deodorant. After that, I went down to have a little bit of toast and I had a bourbon. After breakfast, I got dressed and I got in the plain dudey and went to Trowbridge College for my first day. They parked at Farleigh's base room. I got out, went in and I met Jacque, one of the people who will be supporting me.

I was a bit worried because they test their fire alarm before they have the drill at Trowbridge and there was an alarm in our base room. I really didn't want to stay in the room so Jacque and I went outside for a little bit. Luckily we spoke to Neil on our way to the classroom and he said to us, "I've been here for 15 years and they never test the fire alarm on Induction days as they got so much to do."

That made me all feel better. So the first session was just a introduction session where they would introduce what we were doing on the course.  Neil was explaining to us hat he was going to be our tutor and we had a 'getting to know you' session'. We had an ice breaker and we had to figure out who liked/disliked things. One of them was dub step! I was also given my induction time table and my main time table. I only have to go in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week and the Dudey will come to pick me up Thursday!

After break, I meant to be looking around the college but Neil said that I haven't fully enrolled so I had to stay at the classroom. I couldn't ember what was wrong with my enrolment.

In the afternoon, I was given a student handbook and were we having a tour on the college network. They got their own portal which you can access things like return to the Windows desktop, shutting down computer, eStudy etc. We also had a worksheet to fill in about the college so we know what to do in case of an emergency.

Monday evening was just a chill out evening and I also did my own washing.

This Morning, we had another work sheet to fill in about health and safety. Neil told us about where to go incase the Roshni fire alarm goes of and he also did say "There will not be any fire drills this week."

After break, we were discussing class rules which we did a poster in the afternoon. I also had an introduction to eStudy which I would be using at home, at Farleigh and at College. Before the end of the day, we had a presentation about the college and we were allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, the plain Dudey didn't take me home as it was broke. I had to go home in a car.

Next week, my normal timetable will start and I will be home from Fabulous Farleigh on a Friday.

Sunday 4 September 2011

My First weekend at Farleigh!

It has been my first weekend at Fabulous Farleigh!

On Friday, I was starting to feel nervous as Dad put on 'Driving Away from home'. The rapper said 'We'll close the door'. We did. Then he said, 'Just put your foot down....' Dad slowly  put his foot down and we went for a ride in the dudey!

As we were coming into Frome I felt very nervous and I didn't fancy listening to any more songs on my Farleigh playlist.

We got up to my new residence. I didn't feel like getting out the Dudey first but Louise who is my house leader been talking to me whilst Mum and Dad were setting up my room.

I had my nice ham sandwiches and I went to Wilshire College to enrol. That was easy. I just had to share my GCSE results with them and sign a few sheets and take a photograph. What was exciting that Wilshire College moved away from the 10 year old Windows XP and upgraded to Windows 7.

When I got back, my Bop It XT that Sue Read gave me, the shake it broke! Luckily they had 1 left in stock at Argos and the shake it is OK now.

After setting up my room, Mum and Dad were ready to leave. I was too frightened for them to go so Dad came down with me and I played Bop It Shout with the staff that will be looking after me here.

Whilst I was playing Bop It, Mum and Dad both left and I walked outside the entrance and there was no Dudey! I was very annoyed. I went to have my tea and then Mum and Dad rang me to say I was home.

It was my first night at Farleigh and I phoned up Mum and Dad before I went to sleep. I was tucked up in my nice goose feather duvet and at 4am Saturday morning I woke up, felt a little worried and rang my Mum and Dad up again.

They called one of the night officers and make sure I was ok. I woke up feeling all happy on Saturday morning.

On Saturday I mostly had a chill out morning and I walked around Frome with Petra.

Later on that evening she cooked my tea and she did me too much chicken. I ate all the mash up and peas and a few chicken.

This morning, I felt a little worried but I feel a lot better now.

This is just a start on my excellent adventure at Farleigh and this blog will keep you update on my time here at Fabulous Farleigh and Terrific Trowbridge.
